Welcome! We love that you're here to relearn medicine with us!
As conventionally trained physicians who have worked in children's hospitals and large and small, private, pediatric practices, we found ourselves frustrated with conventional, westernized medicine. Upon entering medical school and pediatric residency, we looked forward to celebrating and cultivating future generations of healthy children, whose care and development were entrusted to us.
However, spending years in practice had us treating symptoms and diseases rather than finding and treating the root causes of illness. Instead of addressing underlying imbalances and treating those to prevent kids from getting sick and developing chronic diseases, we were slapping bandaids on many chronic symptoms.
Our passion to raise our own healthy children led us to look into holistic, alternative ways to improve the health and development of our own families and patients.
This often took us to a range of techniques that were out of our traditional, medical training received in medical school and residency; we were learning more and more about complementary and alternative medications (CAM) and techniques. Through various lifestyle modifications including nutrition, fitness, and natural remedies, we saw positive changes in our homes and with our patients who wanted to feel better and avoid medications that may hold them back for many years ahead.
Though we are not your child's pediatrician and do not intend on replacing his/her valued advice, we welcome you to follow along with us as we relearn medicine and share our new found knowledge through easily digestible social posts, weekly blogs, and online courses that will benefit your entire family. We will share product recommendations that we personally use, recipes we’ve loved (and more importantly, that our kids approve of) and links to some of our favorite resources.
Meet the Team
Dr. Gina Labovitz is a Kentucky-based pediatrician and founder of Envision Pediatrics. She dreamed up her clinic based on how she believes Pediatric care should be modeled. She focuses on "whole child care" for children with developmental, behavioral, and complex health conditions. Drawing from her personal experience as a physician and mother, she advocates for a new and multidimensional approach to child health.
Dr. Kortney West is an esteemed pediatrician with a passion for enhancing the lives of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and behavioral health disorders. Recognizing the significant gaps in youth mental health care, she founded Precise Pediatrics, an innovative practice that integrates precision medicine, nutrition and lifestyle changes to address the root cause of illness. After witnessing the power of these modalities resulting in the true healing of her children, she aims to help other families also heal their bodies and minds rather than mask symptoms.
